Acharya, chairman of Nepal Energy Development Council,
visited HRC and had a pragmatic and friendly communication
with HRC leadership and heads of relevant divisions. HRC

Jianping attended the meeting.
Mr. Sujit Acharya's visit to HRC aims
at pursuing bilateral technical cooperation in Small Hydropower
(SHP) between Nepal and China. Nepal is rich in water
resources, and because of the low development rate and
severe power shortage, there exists a great potential
in developing SHP in Nepal.
Director Ms. Cheng Xialei introduced
to Mr. Sujit Acharya HRC's briefing, efforts in the field
of SHP, and expressed the willingness to provide assistance,
using HRC's information, experience and technology in
SHP field at home and abroad, in terms of general survey
of water resources, SHP training, consultation, technical
refurbishment, equipment supply, investment of SHP stations
and so on for Nepal Energy Development Council.
Mr. Sujit Acharya said he would report
to Nepal Energy Development Council in detail the achievements
of this visit after returning, and hoped that a concrete
cooperation would be conducted and the Memorandum of Cooperation
would be signed as soon as possible. (2013-01-14)
