---On 9 May 2013, the sky was extraordinary
clear after the rain, the opening ceremony of "Seminar
on Rural Electrification for Developing Countries"
----- one of the China-Aid Projects of Ministry of Commerce
(MOFCOM), was held in Hangzhou. . It is the 64th international
seminars/training workshops conducted by HRC, with nearly
twenty officials from the fields of rural electrification
and hydropower in Indonesia, Macedonia, Pakistan, Ghana,
Egypt, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Georgia
and Tanzania coming all the way to attend.
The opening ceremony was presided over
by Mr. Pan Daqing, the Division Chief of Foreign Affairs
and Training of HRC. Director Ms. Cheng Xialei and Honorary
Director Mr. Zhu Xiaozhang delivered speeches respectively,
extending the warm welcome to all the participants and
the best wishes for a successful and fruitful seminar.
Ms. Tettey, an official from the Ministry of Energy &
Petroleum of Ghana addressed on behalf of all the participants,
expressing their gratitude to the Chinese Government and
HRC. She said that they would treasure this good opportunity
for sharing experience and believed that the seminar would
be very productive and coming to China for the participation
in this event would be hugely rewarding.
The seminar with the subject of Rural
Electrification aims to provide a platform for the numerous
developing countries to fully discuss and communicate
in the field of rural electrification and small hydropower
development, focusing on the exchange of updated technology
and the sharing of management experience. In addition
to the plentiful technical presentations, the study tours
will also be arranged for the officials to the world famous
Three Gorge Engineering, the SHP stations, the equipment
manufacturers, the solar and wind companies, as well as
the visits to the university and village in China. (2013-05-13)
