---On April 20th, 2015, during his
visit to Pakistan, Chinese President XI Jinping unveiled
for 8 China-Pakistan Cooperative Projects together with
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, among which, the
"China-Pakistan Joint Research Center for Small Hydropower"
is the one being implemented by HRC.
Dating back to February 2014, in the
witness of the presidents of both China and Pakistan,
a MOU on establishing "China-Pakistan Joint Research
Center on Small Hydropower" was signed between the
Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Pakistan
in Beijing on the basis of equality and mutual benefit,
which is to be taken as a platform for high-level joint
research, know-how exchange and personnel training as
well as capacity-building of Pakistan, so as to enhance
the cooperation in the field of small hydropower (SHP)
in a long-term and steady way. Under the great support
of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry
of Water Resources of China, HRC signed a cooperative
agreement with Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies
(PCRET), focusing on the details for the project implementation.
Presently, the project is carried out smoothly, with the
fulfillment of R+D on the simulation model and the software
of a hybrid power-generation system with SHP and PV, as
well as trial-manufacture of the high and low-voltage
automatic control systems and the container-type SHP equipment.
In near future, the installation of E/M equipment, on-site
commissioning, capacity building, training of professionals
and promotion conference are to be carried out, thus strengthening
the local capacity for SHP development in Pakistan.
Inspired by this unveiling ceremony,
HRC will take his expertise advantage in SHP field, closely
follow the strategies of "One Belt and One Road"
and "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor", and
continuously make his unremitting efforts to promote the
renewable energy development in Pakistan, and contribute
more to the consolidation of traditional friendship between
China and Pakistan as well. (2015-04-29)
