2015 Training Course on Hydropower Technology for Uganda Concluded successfully in Hangzhou

   ---Entrusted by the Ministry of Commerce and jointly conducted by HRC and International Center on Small Hydro Power (ICSHP), "2015 Training Workshop on Hydropower Technology for Uganda" was successfully held in Hangzhou from May 26th to June 14th. 20 officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Rural Electrification Agency, Uganda Electricity Generation Co. Ltd, and Uganda Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd. attended the training course.

   The opening ceremony was held in the International Center on Small Hydro Power in the morning on May 26th. Mr. Liu Heng, Director General of ICSHP, and Ms. Cheng Xialei, Director General of HRC, presented at the ceremony and delivered their speeches. Mr. Liu Heng expressed that China has made great achievement in small hydropower development, and Chinese experience and technology in small hydropower provided a very good demonstration for other developing countries. He hoped this training course could strengthen the mutual sharing of experience and expertise between China and Uganda, and promote the development and construction of hydropower projects in Uganda. Ms. Cheng Xialei introduced the background of this training course as well as the international cooperation on small hydropower achieved by HRC. She sincerely hoped that this training course would achieve a great success. The participant representative, Ms. Aguti Caroline, deliver a speech.

   During the training course, the participants and Chinese engineer exchanged a lot in small hydropower technology and cooperation. The participants expressed their willingness to enhance the cooperation with China so as to jointly promote the development of hydropower and other renewable energies in Uganda.(2015-08-14)
