Seminar on Electrification Mode Based on Clean Energy for Belt and Road Countries held online with success

---From March 16th to 29th 2023, entrusted by the China International Development Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, HRC has held with success the online Seminar on Electrification Mode Based on Clean Energy for Belt and Road Countries, which is the 150th international training program implemented by HRC since its establishment. 36 government officials, technical experts and enterprise representatives from 7 countries, including Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mongolia, the Philippines, Tanzania and Zambia have participated in this 14-day seminar.


Mr. Xu Zhifeng, Director-General of HRC, was present at the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. He expressed the sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Water Resources for the careful guidance and great support and extended warm congratulations to the participants on behalf of HRC. He said that HRC is quite willing to strengthen energy cooperation with other countries, and to share China’s development concept, practical technology and experience, so as to jointly improve the development and management of clean energy, safeguard global energy security and continue to promote the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Mr. Ngeth Bora, Chief of the Office of Hydro-Electricity Department, Ministry of Minerals and Energy of Cambodia, addressed on behalf of all participants. He extended his sincere thanks to the Ministry of Commence of China and HRC for organizing this rewarding event. Moreover, Mr. Bora shared with us the consensus of all participants that through this fruitful training program, they have expanded the expertise in the field of clean energy and electrification, shared the relevant experience, and also discussed the bright prospects for future cooperation.

Clean energy and rural electrification are the hot spots and important areas of cooperation between China and Belt and Road countries in the field of capacity building and infrastructure construction under the framework of “Belt and Road” initiative. The 14-day seminar shared China’s development experience and applicable technology of electrification based on small hydropower and other clean energy through technical presentations, online visits and discussions, aiming to provide a platform for cooperation between China and other Belt and Road countries, so as to effectively promoting more extensive and in-depth cooperation between China and other Belt and Road countries in the field of rural electrification and renewable energy technology and the equipment manufacturing, thus jointly promoting the proper development of small hydropower and other clean and renewable energy in both China and Belt and Road countries.(2023-04-14)
